SEEKING PERFECT: THE ART OF WATCHMAKING

A short film on the art of independent watchmaking

Watchmaking is often thought of as a craft bound by tradition. But for many independent watchmakers, tradition is only the beginning—a point of departure in a deeply personal journey through mechanical art.

For these independents, a watch is more than a machine. It is a philosophical act. A spiritual object. A reflection of vision, tension, restraint, and time.

Seeking Perfect follows Denis Flageollet, co-founder of De Bethune, as he transforms raw material—ore pulled from the Jura mountains—into something extraordinary. In his hands, steel becomes story. Fire becomes clarity. And the process becomes the message.
